At Steel Coaching, we support people to develop the clarity, confidence and connection they need to lead well - in work, in sport, and in their wider lives.
We work with motivated people who care deeply about what they do, and who are navigating responsibility, pressure or change. You might be leading others, contributing within a team, or finding your way through a stretch that matters.
Our role is to create space for clarity - space to think, reflect and move forward with greater confidence and intention. Grounded in high-performance sport and real-world leadership, our work is shaped by a belief that strength is built in the everyday moments, through clarity, connection and trust.

I’m Becca Hembrough, a leadership and performance coach.
My work supports people who care deeply about what they do - and who want to lead, perform and thrive in ways that feel confident, grounded and sustainable.
Much of my experience sits within sport and high-performance environments, but the challenges people bring are rarely just about performance. They’re about responsibility, pressure, relationships, identity and change.
My approach is shaped by 17+ years in high-performance sport and leadership development. That includes leading the female performance programme at England Golf, supporting Olympians as a sport psychologist, and working closely with coaches, leaders and teams operating in demanding, results-driven systems.
I now bring that experience into my coaching practice - not as theory, but as lived understanding. I know what it’s like to hold responsibility, to make decisions under pressure, and to navigate complexity while still caring deeply about people and outcomes.
At the heart of my work is creating space. Space to slow things down, to think clearly, and to make sense of what really matters. From there, people build confidence, take purposeful action, and strengthen the way they show up - whether that’s as a leader, a coach, or a professional contributor within a team.
My coaching is reflective, challenging and practical. It’s grounded in real-world leadership rather than quick fixes, and built on trust, professional rigour and care.
I’m an EMCC-accredited coach (EIA) and a Lumina Spark and Lumina Leader 360 practitioner, and I continue to contribute in leadership and governance roles within sport, including as GB&I Girls’ Captain for 2026.
Steel Coaching is inspired by my home city of Sheffield - the city of steel and peaks - and the legacy of the Women of Steel. It’s a reminder that strength is rarely loud or showy, but built quietly over time, in the everyday moments that shape who we become.
Our work is about creating the right conditions for people to think clearly, build confidence and move forward with intention.
We don’t offer quick fixes or off-the-shelf answers. Instead, we work alongside people to slow things down, ask better questions, and focus on what will make the most meaningful difference - in how they lead, perform and show up.
What clients often value most about working with us:
Space to think
Time away from the noise, pressure and expectation, so you can make sense of what’s really going on.
01
Challenge with care
Support that stretches you, without judgement. Honest conversations, grounded in trust.
02
Clarity into action
Turning reflection into practical steps that fit your context, values and responsibilities.
03
Sustainable growth
Building confidence and capability in ways that last, rather than quick wins that fade.

“I’d absolutely recommend coaching with Becca. Taking time to focus solely on my personal development made such a difference.
Becca has this incredible ability to make you feel completely supported - like she’s truly in your corner. She helped me uncover clarity and confidence I didn’t know I had, and created a level of trust that allowed me to open up like never before.”
- Carinne, Individual Coaching Client
“Becca brought her best for me. She challenged me, made me accountable, created a space where I felt I could be honest, vulnerable and open without judgement. It was a space built on respect and trust.”
- Virginia, Leadership Programme Participant
“Becca supported members of my team to grow in confidence, reflect more effectively, and apply what they were learning in a very practical way. I could see clear progress in how they showed up in role.
Although the coaching wasn’t about me, I learnt a great deal through the process and our conversations. Becca is an excellent listener and communicator, and I would very happily work with her again.”
- Senior Leader, National Governing Body
This work is for people who care deeply about what they do, and who want to lead, perform and grow in ways that feel confident, grounded and sustainable.
You might be:
carrying responsibility - for performance, people or outcomes
navigating a period of stretch, change or transition
leading others, or contributing within a team and wanting to show up with greater clarity and confidence (with or without the title)
working in demanding or high-pressure environments
looking for space to think, reflect and move forward with intention
Some people come with a clear goal. Others arrive feeling stuck, uncertain or stretched thin. Both are welcome.
What matters most is a willingness to reflect, to engage honestly with yourself and your context, and to take responsibility for what you want to strengthen or change.
If any of this resonates, you’re very welcome to get in touch.
Some people come with a clear question or goal in mind. Others simply know they’d benefit from space to think and reflect with someone alongside them. Either is completely fine.
If you’re curious to explore whether working together would be helpful, you can book a free connection call or drop me a message. There’s no expectation - just a chance to talk things through and see what feels right.
