At Steel Coaching, we support people and organisations develop the clarity, confidence and connection to lead and perform well - in work, in sport, and beyond.
We work with motivated people, teams and organisations who care deeply about what they do and are navigating responsibility, pressure or change. Whether you’re leading others or finding your way through a stretch that matters, developing your team or investing in leadership across your organisation - our role is to help people think more clearly, lead more intentionally and create environments where others can thrive.
Through coaching, leadership programmes, team development and facilitated conversations, we create the conditions for better conversations, stronger relationships and meaningful growth. Grounded in high-performance sport and real-world leadership, our work is shaped by a belief the way we lead others begins with how we lead ourselves, and that lasting strength is built in the everyday moments through clarity, connection and trust.

I’m Becca Hembrough, a leadership development specialist, coach and facilitator.
My work supports people who care deeply about what they do and who want to lead, perform and thrive in ways that feel confident, grounded and sustainable. While much of my experience sits within sport and high-performance environments, but the challenges people bring are rarely just about performance. They’re about responsibility, pressure, relationships, identity and change.
My approach is shaped by more than 17 years in high-performance sport and leadership development. That includes leading the female performance programme at England Golf, supporting Olympians as a sport psychologist, designing and delivering international leadership development programmes with The R&A, and working alongside leaders, coaches and teams operating in demanding, results-driven environments across the UK and internationally.
Today my work spans coaching, leadership development, team development and speaking. I partner with organisations to develop leaders at every stage of their journey - from emerging leaders in the early roles to experienced executives leading across complex organisations. Alongside this, I design and facilitate international leadership programmes that have brought over one hundred leaders together from across Europe, Asia and beyond to learn, challenge and grow together.
What I bring isn’t just theory - it’s lived experience of leading under pressure, making difficult decisions and navigating complexity while still caring deeply about people and outcomes.
At the heart of my work is helping people think more clearly. Sometimes that means creating space to slow down and reflect. Sometimes it means asking the question that shifts a perspective, facilitating a conversation a team has been avoiding, or designing learning experiences that change how people lead themselves and others. Whatever the context, the goal is the same: helping people move forward with greater clarity, confidence and intention.
My work is reflective, challenging and practical - grounded in real-world leadership rather than quick fixes, and built on trust, professional rigour and genuine care.
I’m an EMCC-accredited coach (EIA) and a Lumina Spark and Lumina Leader 360 practitioner, and I continue to contribute in leadership and governance roles within sport, including as GB&I Girls’ Captain for 2026.
Steel Coaching is inspired by my home city of Sheffield - the city of steel and peaks - and the legacy of the Women of Steel. It’s a reminder that strength is rarely loud or showy, but built quietly over time, in the everyday moments that shape who we become.
Our work is about creating the right conditions for people to think clearly, build confidence and move forward with intention.
We don’t offer quick fixes or off-the-shelf answers. Instead, we work alongside people to slow things down, ask better questions, and focus on what will make the most meaningful difference - in how they lead, perform and show up.

Becca has an incredible way of asking the right questions and helping you see things from new perspectives. It's a chance to pause, reflect and discover your own strengths with someone who's truly in your corner."
-Carinne, Regional Development Manager
"Working with Becca is a deeply reflective and empowering experience. She creates a safe and trusting space where you feel truly heard and valued. Rather than giving you the answers, she guides you to find your own solutions, building confidence, clarity and ownership in your growth."
-PGA Professional Coach

Organisation and Team Development:
“Becca supported members of my team to grow in confidence, reflect more effectively, and apply what they were learning in a very practical way. I could see clear progress in how they showed up in role.
Although the coaching wasn’t about me, I learnt a great deal through the process and our conversations. Becca is an excellent listener and communicator, and I would very happily work with her again.”
-Senior Leader, National Governing Body
“This has been one of the most valuable team development processes we’ve undertaken. It has strengthened relationships, improved how we work together, and given us practical tools that we use every day.”
-Hannah McAllister, CEO, Wales Golf
Helping Wales Golf strengthen leadership across three teams
Working with Wales Golf, we created space for leaders and teams to step back from day-to-day demands, strengthen how they worked together and develop a shared language for leadership. The result was stronger relationships, more open conversations and greater collaboration across the organisation.
We work with motivated people and organisations who care deeply about what they do, and want to develop leadership that is thoughtful, confident and sustainable.
You might be:
leading a team and wanting to create an environment where people can thrive
stepping into greater responsibility or navigating a period of stretch or change
balancing performance with people
contributing within a team and wanting to lead with greater confidence and influence, regardless of your role or title
investing in the development of your leaders, team or organisation
looking for space to think more clearly, strengthen relationships and move forward with intention
Some people come with a clear goal. Others arrive feeling stuck, uncertain or stretched by the demands of leadership. Organisations often come wanting to invest in their people, strengthen teams or build leadership capability over time.
What matters most is a willingness to reflect, to engage honestly with yourself and your context, and a commitment to putting new thinking into practice.
If any of this resonates, you’re very welcome to get in touch.
Some people come with a clear question or goal in mind. Others simply know they’d benefit from space to think and reflect with someone alongside them. Either is completely fine.
If you’re curious to explore whether working together would be helpful, you can book a free connection call or drop me a message. There’s no expectation - just a chance to talk things through and see what feels right.
